Let's talk business. And we mean "I've been working in my trade for over 15 years and still can't seem to put the phone away or take 5 minutes to myself" type business.
It's actually quite common for contractors to feel this way.
And after many years of in-the-field research, and lot's of market research, we've come to a few conclusions.
Most contractors don't trust anyone to help them take over. Therefore, they keep working in the trade, involving themselves way too much in the dirty work, and never catch a break.
A lot of business owners don't realize that if they had systems in place, they wouldn't even need to be involved, but weren't taught that when they began working in their field.
Being skeptical is a trait that a lot of construction guys have when it comes to doing anything related to mindset work and business.
These 3 points can be pretty major and will stop you dead in your tracks when you are trying to grow to retire.
So where does TCC come in?
Well, we've not only had the experience of building multiple companies over the last 26 years, and that alone has helped us in finding the real issue in scaling and having more time, but we've also had training when it comes to how we really think about our business.
And most of us think, "I am the only one capable of doing the job right." Ring a bell?
And it's just. Not. True. There are plenty of capable people out there, who will actually give you their all if they are taken care of, and will help you do the things that you really shouldn't be doing anymore.
As business owners, we don't need to be showing up to the job sites daily, taking phone calls for potential clients, and ordering material. If you have a proper system in place, and you can welcome more people to join your team, then you won't need to be the one-stop-shop for the whole business.
We're not going to sugarcoat it. This isn't some fluffy idea that we came up with to sell you on our program. We're here to keep it real and raw and to show you a totally different way to do things so that you can actually start enjoying life instead of just dreaming about retirement.
We have tried everything. And it all comes down to how much we can trust others, how much we trust ourselves to let go of the reigns a little, and how well we can set up our companies so that we no longer have to be there every single day, every single moment, working in overdrive and feeling like you're still an operator in your own business.
